Founded in 2013 and as the first program of its kind in Wyandotte County, Due West Therapeutic Riding Center ("Due West TRC")  provides therapeutic riding services to children and adults with disabilities and other therapeutic needs.  Our program forms a connection between horse and rider that improves our clients' overall well-being.

Our program is designed to serve individuals with physical and cognitive disabilities; including autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome, multiple sclerosis, developmental delay, cerebral palsy, limited mobility, emotional disorders and vision and hearing impairments.

Due West TRC is located on 40 beautiful acres in Wyandotte County, just a couple of miles west of our former location. We are still on Donahoo Road and remain just minutes away from The Legends Shopping Center and Kansas Speedway, with easy, paved highway access from I-70, K7 and I-435. There are scenic views from all vantage points on the property, allowing families to experience much-needed time away from clinical settings and stressful, busy home lives.

Due West TRC serves individuals in Wyandotte, Leavenworth, Johnson and Douglas counties in Kansas, as well as the greater Kansas City, Missouri and surrounding areas. We continue to offer year-round riding times at our PATH-certified center.

To everyone requesting information on and enrollment in our program:

We thank you for your interest! The demand for therapeutic horseback riding is growing at a tremendous rate. While we would love to be able to accommodate everyone, we currently have a wait list for these services.

Please know that ALL requests are being received and reviewed, even if you do not receive a direct confirmation from our Executive Director. When we have received all of your completed participant forms, we will add you to our wait list, in the order received. Forms can be found on our website, Our Services page, at www.duewesttrc.org.

We thank you for your patience and understanding!

HAY! Drive for Our Herd

Our herd means the world to us, so to keep them healthy and happy 24/7/365, we buy the highest quality hay we can find, but that comes at a price, and the price went up: it is now $80.00/bale. Our horses consume about 3 bales every 2-3 days… that’s a lot of HAY!

If you would like to donate to the HAY! Drive and help us offset this increased cost, we would greatly appreciate it, and so would our sweet, beautiful horses! You can donate here on our website by choosing the amount and using the "Add to Cart" button below. We also have envelopes available at the Center in the barn lounge on the TRC bulletin board if you would like to donate by cash or check, payable to Due West TRC. Mailing in your support? Please send your donation to:

Our center cannot survive without the generous financial contributions from businesses and individuals in the communities we serve. You may rest assured that every single penny of every single dollar of your donation will go directly into our program. Our goal: to impact as many children and adults living with disabilities as we possibly can. That number can only go up through donations. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to our center today. You can donate online by visiting our For Volunteers and Donors page here on our website or by mailing a check to:
